“In high school, Bill worked at Six Flags amusement park. His job was to be the announcer for one of the games. He would heckle people all day long as if he was at a baseball game at Fenway park. If a couple was walking by and holding hands he would start singing a sappy love song by Phil Collins. He would then say things to couples passing by like “if you really loved that girl, you wouldn’t be so cheap to take her to an amusement park on a date.” I guess you could say he was not romantic in those days. He certainly changed when he met his lovely bride Melissa.

Even if you attempt a funny wedding speech do not forget that your speech should follow certain guidelines. Most of your speech will still follow a set structure where you must thank the right people and end with a toast. Do not your funny wedding speech take away from your other duties.

Secondly, always remember that there are certain topics that are off limits. Of course the funniest stories are often drunken nights in Cancun but it is not “wedding humor.”
